1 or 2-day tour Colonial Cachoeira
& artisan ceramics route through the Recôncavo Baiano.

Would you like to learn about the Colonial History of Bahia ?
Meet with every-day-Baianos and their daily activities ?
Way off the beaten tourist tracks ?
And ... are you art minded with a specific interest for ceramics ?

Then GO for this 2-day MINI-TOUR along the beautiful landscapes of the famous colonial area, the "Reconcavo Baiano" along paths no other tourism agency will take you.

Wake off inlands, to the Colonial town of Cachoeire, a thriving region that was on it's top in the 18th en 19th century.
You will observe the typical colonial architecture in a relaxed fashon (far away from Salvador's stressfull life and meet locals in their daily activities. Art & crafts will be one of our main objectives.

We will sleep in an ancient Convent that is converted to a Pousada. The next day we go to The next day we move towards the fisherman's village Coqueiros where one finds plenty of artisan potters, specialized on kitchenware.

We will have a typical fisherman's lunch along the Paraguaçu-river

After lunch we go to Maragojipinho, known all over Bahia for its artistique pottery (many of the products that are made here you could have seen on the market we visited earlier in the morning).

By the end of the afternoon we drive back to Salvador, over the island Itaparica where we will take a 45min ferryboat ride to the city.

Being a ceramist myself I will try to provide you with all usefull data possible.

Please contact us if you would like any supplemental or specific information.
If you have really very little time to spend in Bahia we can eventually compress this tour in 1 (long) day.
